Going Dutch

When it come to delicious, healthy and unique breakfast and lunch options, De Dutch isthe place.  As the name intimates De Dutch restaurant traces it’s roots back to the Netherlands, where the original restauranteur, John Dys was born.

After emigrating to Canada John Dys found himself learning about the restaurant industry and eventually opened up a restaurant called the Frying Dutchman.  During a trip back to the Netherlands he had lunch with his Dad and was struck with the idea to bring the traditional pannekoek to Canada.  So in 1975 the “Original Dutch Pannekoek House” was opened in Vancouver and the rest, as they say is history!
