I love the movies. Getting absorbed in the story of another person and seeing how things turn out for them, all in the span of a couple hours. We have to sit and wait and watch our lives unfold, and in the age of TV streaming and Netflix binging, I am starting to get impatient. Don’t get me wrong I don’t want to miss out on my life, and I do find that it is going too fast really, but what I mean is, wouldn’t it be nice to fast forward through things like laundry and grocery shopping, and focus in on the moments that matter.
Like in the movies. Imagine watching Ethan Hunt pick up his dry cleaning, chop lettuce for a salad, floss his teeth, make his bed, put out the recycling; you get the idea! So, a movie is an edited version of a person’s life, leaving out the mundane and letting us soak up the adventure. Maybe part of the secret of life is to do the same for yourself. Focus on the moments you love, and let the rest fall to the editing room floor.
